This platter is made from a piece of a walnut tree that had to be felled locally. Walnut is quite uncommon in Scotland. It has a very dark and highly figured heartwood and very light sapwood. This piece has beautiful figuring.
The approximate dimensions are 240mm in diameter by 30mm in height (9 1/2″ x 1 1/4″).
